The big difference between these two curtains is how it hangs and folds. We have produced a small guide below to facilitate your curtain decision.

Wave curtains, also called lounge curtains, are characterized by their undulating waves, which become symmetrical and even due to the fact that the curtain is hung with wave hooks at fixed sliding distances under the rail. This is made possible because the slide is attached to a string where the distances are even.

The waves can be adjusted so that they become smaller or larger, and with the appropriate textile, the wave movement can be maintained throughout the full length of the drapery.

Wave curtains are most often seen in social rooms to create a modern, harmonious and luxurious atmosphere. Not only do they look beautiful when pulled up, but stack back very neatly when not in use, helping to maximize the light in a room.

When it comes to installing wave curtains, it needs a little more space due to its shape and will "stick out" about 10 cm from the wall.

The pleat curtain has more of a tight pleat compared to the wave curtain. This curtain is hung with finger hooks instead of wave hooks. These finger hooks lift the curtain so that it hides the rail where the curtain hangs, while wave hooks allow the curtain to hang just below the rail.

The pleat curtain does not take up as much space and works great in tight spaces. The tight shape in the upper part contributes to a relaxed looseness in the lower part.

The pleat curtain fits in all types of rooms and works as an excellent choice in, for example, bedrooms where the space is usually tighter than in other rooms.

They are also a perfect choice when you want double layers of curtains, for example as a complement behind the blackout curtain to create the luxurious hotel feeling. This is because it takes up less space during installation and each rail "sticks out" approx. 5 cm from the wall.

You choose which style that suits you and your home.

A wave curtain protrudes 10cm from the wall or the nearest element/window sill.

The curtain rail is mounted 5 cm from the wall or the nearest element/window sill.

If you want the hotel look and double rails, put the second rail 12cm from the first. So a total of 17cm.

The wave curtain protrudes more than the pleat curtain. So we recommend pleat curtains for tighter spaces.

Wave curtains are hung with wrinkle tape hooks and slide on string with 8cm distance.

1. The Wave curtain is hung with wrinkle tape hooks and these are already on the curtain when you buy made-to-measure curtains from GARDINEX.

2. The wave curtain is then hung on "slide on string" which must match the number of wrinkle tape hooks on the curtain.

Slide on string is already in the curtain rail when you buy curtain rails from GARDINEX. If you have a curtain rail that is not from GARDINEX, there must be "slide on string" in the curtain rail that matches the number of wrinkle tape hooks that are on the curtain.

The pleat curtain protrudes much less than the wave curtain. So we recommend pleat curtains for tighter spaces.

Pleat curtains are hung with two finger hooks with a high neck and with loose slides in the curtain rail.
